VERNON, Conn. (AP) - A 71-year-old Mansfield man is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from a Willington Veterans of Foreign Wars post while he was treasurer. Authorities say he spent most of the money on Internet pornography.

The Journal Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1Jh3XVj ) that Frederick Brown was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge of first-degree larceny at Vernon Superior Court. He is free on $50,000 bond.

A phone number for Brown could not be found and the court clerk’s office said Friday it’s not known if he’s represented by a lawyer.

State police said Brown admitted to using the money after being drawn last year to a website featuring women who perform erotic acts on camera.

VFW post commander Ray Gantick said as a result of the missing money, the VFW group is in financial difficulty.
