SOCASTEE, S.C. (AP) - A vigil will be held at the boat landing where a missing Horry County woman is thought to have been killed two years ago.

Local media outlets report that family and friends of Heather Elvis will gather Friday evening at the Peachtree Landing near Socastee. Elvis was last heard from on Dec. 18, 2013, after going on a date.

Authorities have charged Sidney and Tammy Moorer with murder in the case, even though the woman’s body has not been found.

The couple was to have gone to trial last May, but a judge continued the case and no new date has been set. Because of a gag order issued earlier by a judge, officials haven’t discussed the reasons for the delay.
