TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A woman charged with murder in the shooting death of a Lake Tapps man who investigators say was her love interest has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

The News Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/S3lw6W ) 35-year-old Fallon Brown was charged Thursday with second-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Paul Bailey and ordered to be evaluated at a hospital to determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Police had responded to Bailey’s home Wednesday and found his body with at least one gunshot wound.

Charging documents say Brown checked herself into a Seattle mental hospital after the shooting and later confessed to police what she had done.

The records say police were unsure whether Brown’s statements were true because of “apparent mental health issues.”
