SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The power went out for a short time Saturday morning around the state’s busiest shopping region.

Xcel Energy spokesman Eric Pauli tells the Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1JjZelW ) that an equipment failure near one of Xcel’s substations knocked out power for about 368 customers around 10 a.m. Crews were able to fix the issue just before 11:30 a.m.

Traffic near the intersection of 41st Street and Louise Avenue was disrupted as several stoplights in the area went dark.

Shoppers posting on social media reported outages at three stores inside Empire Mall and a bookstore across the street.
