HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - Police say they have made an arrest in the killing of a man found dead by firefighters during a blaze at a High Point apartment.

Investigators said in a news release that 26-year-old Ryne Stevens is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree arson from the Sept. 20 fire that killed 37-year-old Marshall Williams.

Stevens is currently in Randolph County Jail on unrelated arson charges.

Police say they connected Stevens to the High Point fire through tests on evidence found at the scene of the blaze. Authorities say Stevens has set similar fires in the past and knew Williams.
