THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A Thibodaux man will face no additional jail time for a 2012 fatal stabbing after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Jocobe (joh-KOH’-bee) Henderson had been jailed or under house arrest for three years when he pleaded guilty Friday. The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1Od58Xi ) that the 24-year-old admitted to the Aug. 18, 2012, slaying of Douglas Turner of Thibodaux.

Manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, but state District Judge John LeBlanc ruled that Henderson had served enough time. LeBlanc said more incarceration for Henderson would not serve any purpose.
