HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy is the latest Connecticut Democrat planning to travel to New Hampshire and discuss presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s plan to reduce gun violence.

Murphy is scheduled to join Clinton on Tuesday at several events in the Granite State.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has also traveled to New Hampshire to tout Clinton’s gun violence reduction plan.

On Saturday, Malloy, the new chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, met with gun violence prevention advocates in Iowa on behalf of Clinton, who has proposed comprehensive federal background check requirements and other measures.

Connecticut’s congressional delegation and Malloy have sought stronger gun control laws following the deadly Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown.
