ALEXANDER, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say a 42-year-old Montana man was killed when his pickup truck rear-ended a tractor trailer on U.S. Highway 85 about a mile south of Alexander.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the semi-truck was heading north in the rightmost lane of Highway 85 about 3:30 p.m. Friday when it slowed for a school bus making a right turn. The pickup truck struck the trailer and came to rest in the right lane, still attached to the trailer.

The pickup truck driver, who was from Sidney, Montana, was killed. His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The semi-truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
