MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine whether four recent break-ins at pharmacies in Lauderdale County are related.

The latest burglary happened early Thursday morning at a Mr. Discount Drugs on Meridian’s north side.

Meridian Police Detective Dareall Thompson tells The Meridian Star (https://bit.ly/1RvCsiW ) that officers responded to an emergency call reporting gunshots, arriving at the pharmacy to find an alarm sounding and a window broken.

The owner reported cash and other items taken.

Someone tried to break into another Mr. Discount Drugs in Meridian Monday, and there were attempted burglaries reported at other pharmacies in Meridian and Collinsville earlier.

Thompson says police aren’t sure whether the incidents are related.
