LEBANON, N.H. (AP) - Police in New Hampshire say a Vermont father and son are facing drug charges after investigators found more than 2,500 bags of heroin in their motel room.

Lebanon police say 18-year-old Dylan Avery and his father, 37-year-old Thomas Avery - both of Barre - were arrested and appeared in court Friday.

Lebanon Deputy Police Chief Phil Roberts told the Valley News (https://bit.ly/1Of8NKm ) that’s “a large amount” of heroin for the Upper Valley.

Authorities say they searched the Averys’ room at the Baymont Inn & Suites based on a tip from Vermont State Police.

Dylan Avery is being held on $100,000 bail. His father was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bail.

No phone listing for the men could be found. It was not immediately known if they have lawyers.
