TRINITY, Ala. (AP) - A northwest Alabama woman is charged with capital murder and arson in a residential fire that killed her husband.

Lawrence County officials say 59-year-old Susie Ella Stovall is accused of starting the blaze that killed her 66-year-old husband, Azrel Gene Stovall, on Thanksgiving eve.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell says officers were called to the couple’s mobile home that night because of a domestic dispute between the two. The man told a deputy he was going back to bed as officers left.

Officers were called back to the home because of a fire about 15 minutes later. Stovall’s body was found in bed in the couple’s bedroom, where the blaze occurred.

His widow is being held without bond in the Lawrence County jail.
