NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a man shot his girlfriend and then himself in a murder-suicide in a western New York home.

Investigators say the bodies were discovered in North Tonawanda Tuesday night.

Detective Captain Thomas Krantz says the 45-year-old man lived at the house and the 37-year-old woman lived in Niagara Falls. He said each was killed with one round from a shotgun.

The bodies were found by a male friend of the woman who went to check on the couple after not hearing from them for a while.
