MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) - McComb officials are proposing changing the name of Avenue H to Jarrod Dyson Drive in honor of the World Series-winning outfielder.

The McComb Enterprise-Journal (https://bit.ly/1Np0320 ) reports Mayor Whitney Rawlings said last week he wants the board to discuss renaming the street after the McComb native who recently won the World Series with the Kansas City Royals.

Rawlings says he has asked Recreation Department director Joseph Parker about having signs in town that read, “Home of Jarrod Dyson.” Rawlings added that Dyson has agreed to be the city’s grand marshal for the Christmas parade.

Selectman Donovan Hill says he thinks the McComb High School baseball field should also be named after him.
