PITTSBURGH (AP) - A county jail guard in Pittsburgh has been fired and charged with having sex with two female inmates, telling one of them he was unhappy with his marriage.

Thirty-four-year-old Joshua Reber, of Upper St. Clair, wasn’t answering his phone Wednesday, several hours after he was arrested and fired upon arriving for work at the Allegheny County jail.

Reber had worked for the jail since 2007 and earned $64,000 a year.

According to criminal complaints, both women had jobs as pod workers, which gave them special privileged including single cells and additional time when they were allowed outside of the cells.

Reber is charged with institutional sexual assault because a prisoner cannot legally consent to have sex with a guard under Pennsylvania law.

He faces a preliminary hearing Dec. 15.
