ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Farmington-area man has been sentenced to over six years in prison on a conviction stemming from a 2014 accident that killed two people riding in a vehicle he was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 29-year-old Farrell Bowman of Fruitland was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Albuquerque to 74 months in prison.

The accident occurred July 3, 2014 on a portion of the Navajo Nation within San Juan County. Bowman is Navajo, as were the two victims.
