MADRAS, Ore. (AP) - Former Jefferson County Treasurer Deena Goss has been sentenced to 75 days in jail for stealing county money.

The Bulletin reports (https://is.gd/fm4yjy ) that on Tuesday Goss was also ordered to complete 20 days on a county work crew, pay the $315 she was convicted of stealing in restitution and submit a letter of apiology to Jefferson County to a local newspaper. She has been ordered to serve 18 months of probation after her time in jail.

Goss resigned as treasurer in the days after her conviction for forgery, official misconduct and theft in late October. She had served as treasurer since 2003. She stopped reporting to work and collecting a salary for her duties as treasurer in early 2014, when she learned of the county’s internal investigation.
