BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A Billings man has been accused of stabbing another man, almost severing the victim’s kidney.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1TuUqQM ) that 37-year-old Jeremy Ron Davidson has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon in Yellowstone County court. He is being held in lieu pf $50,000 bond.

Davidson’s girlfriend told police that on Sunday he came to her home, took a number of pills and left. She followed him out of concern.

Police say Davidson stopped in the middle of the street as he left, almost hitting a girl with his car. The girl’s father yelled at Davidson, who proceeded to leave his car and punch the father. Davidson then stabbed the man in the waist, upper arm, shoulder and forearm.

The victim is in fair condition in the intensive care unit as of Tuesday.
