ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Officials at Kirtland Air Force Base say they have lifted a precautionary lockdown after finding no threats on base property.

The military installation at the edge of Albuquerque was locked down Wednesday afternoon along with some neighboring public schools following reports of gunshots near a building on the west side of the base.

Security forces investigated but could not substantiate the claims of gunfire. The lockdown was lifted after they determined there was no threat.
