PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police say they’ve made an arrest in the Thanksgiving Day shooting of a Pittsburgh cab driver who is Muslim, but aren’t saying what they think motivated the shooting.

Authorities say Anthony Mohamed was charged with aggravated assault, attempted homicide and reckless endangerment.

The FBI began a review of the shooting after the Council on American-Islamic Relations asked the Justice Department to determine if it was a hate crime. The driver, a Moroccan immigrant, was shot in the back and is recovering.

Police say surveillance video shows Mohamed getting into the cab. At his house, he allegedly told the driver he was going to get his wallet, but returned and began firing.

Mohamed was being held Wednesday in the Allegheny County Jail. Authorities didn’t know whether he had a lawyer.
