DETROIT (AP) - Police say two people opened fire on a car in a store parking lot, killing a 21-year-old man and a teenage girl on Detroit’s east side.

According to police, the man tried to drive away after being shot. They say two children were on the hood of the car at the time and were injured. The car hit a building before stopping.

The man was identified by the medical examiner’s office as Stevan Henderson. The name of the 13-year-old girl who was killed has not been released.

Police say another girl who was on the car is in critical condition. A boy is in stable condition.

Police said the shooters fled on foot. They have not released a motive in the shooting.
