CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) - Police in San Diego County say they’ve arrested a man who three times jumped out of a car and stabbed random people in the back.

Chula Vista police said Tuesday night that they had arrested 45-year-old Gerardo Bejar in the stabbings. Bejar was identified as a suspect, pulled over and arrested without incident. It’s not clear whether he has hired an attorney.

Police say three attacks have been reported since Nov. 17. The victims were two men and a woman in a wheelchair. None of the wounds are life-threatening.

Police say the latest attack came early Tuesday when a car stopped in the street and a man jumped out, grabbed a pedestrian from behind and stabbed him, then made random remarks before fleeing.

The victim said he’d never seen the man.
