DENVER (AP) - Denver police say as many as three motorists drove over the body of a crashed motorcyclist on Interstate 25 and did not stop.

Sgt. Mike Farr tells The Denver Post (https://goo.gl/hFJBGk ) the drivers likely knew they ran over something but might not have known they had hit a man, who crashed near the exit for Santa Fe Drive early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say a witness told them the vehicles involved in the wreck include a tractor-trailer with a white cab with red lettering, a box truck and a sedan.

Farr says several other drivers stopped briefly before heading off, adding “We know there was more than one witness to this collision.”

The motorcyclist has only been identified as a 61-year-old man.
