SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A state lawmaker wants to designate an official Utah hashtag for use on Twitter and other social media postings.

Sen. Todd Weiler says he started exploring the idea after learning that lawmakers in Texas were approving official hashtags for that state.

Weiler told KUTV (https://bit.ly/1l80542 ) that he hasn’t decided what hashtag to propose for Utah but he’s considering #utah, #visitutah and #skiutah.

The Republican from Woods Cross plans to sponsor a resolution next year designating the hashtag.
