LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police and Nevada Highway Patrol have beefed up their presence on Interstate 15 near the California state line as officials search for the gunmen who killed at least 14 people across the border in San Bernardino.

Vegas police said units were sent there Wednesday afternoon until further notice but that there is no specific information suggesting a threat to southern Nevada.

Police said the precautionary move deploying additional resources is to ensure safety but cars aren’t being stopped.

Nevada Highway Patrol also said a sergeant and trooper were sent to the area near Primm, in addition to two troopers already there, in case the shooters headed north toward Vegas.

Officials in San Bernardino said three gunmen attacked a social services center in an apparent targeted mission Wednesday morning.
