WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Worcester police are investigating the fatal early morning stabbing of a city woman.

Police said in a statement that officers responded to Murray Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Officers found the 31-year-old woman on the side of the road near a liquor store suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as Cherise Hill, of Worcester, was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that police are looking at surveillance video that shows two people attacking the woman.

There was no word on any arrests.
