GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - Campbell County is seeking funds for its drug court program after the state cut nearly $5 million from drug court budgets.

The courts handles drug and driving while impaired cases and often require participants to undergo addiction treatment and attend regular court sessions instead of going to jail.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://tinyurl.com/q2yvbeg ) the county has a high success rate and it saves money in the long run.

The county also has a Juvenile and Family drug court program that could be affected by the cuts.
