BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Ranchers are nearing the deadline for renewing their livestock brands.

North Dakota brands expire on Jan. 1. The Stockmen’s Association operates the brand program under the direction of the Legislature and sent out about 23,000 renewal notices to ranchers in July.

Brands must be renewed at the end of five years. Ranchers must complete the forms and pay $25 per brand.
