MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A man was arrested after Memphis police say stray bullets from his gun killed an innocent bystander.

According to WMC-TV (https://bit.ly/1m1wdqd), the shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Police arrested 19-year-old Montavious Jennings on Friday after witnesses identified him as the shooter.

Investigators found 45-year-old Frederick Richardson with a gunshot wound upon arrival at the scene, where they pronounced Richardson dead.

Witnesses told police there was an altercation that led to Jennings getting out of a car, then firing several shots at his intended targets. The bullets missed them and hit Richardson.

Police arrested Jennings after two people identified him as the shooter.

Jennings is charged with three counts of criminal attempted first-degree murder and first-degree murder.

He was being held Sunday in the Shelby County Jail. His bond had not been set. It’s unclear whether Jennings has an attorney.
