MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) - A former mid-Michigan sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to just under a year in jail on criminal sexual conduct and misconduct charges.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant (https://bit.ly/22lLToL ) reports that a Midland County judge on Monday also ordered 57-year-old Kevin Dush of Rosebush to serve four years of probation after his release from jail and to pay about $7,400 in court costs, fines and other fees.

Dush pleaded no contest in September to two charges, but originally faced several more when he was charged in May. He was accused of trying to extort sex from a shoplifting suspect and using his position to have sex with another woman he met while on patrol.

The 25-year veteran of the Isabella County deputy quit before being interviewed by the undersheriff.
