SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Some anonymous donors dropped a note and their late mother’s wedding ring into a Salvation Army kettle in southeast South Dakota.
The donors wrote in the note that their mom, who passed away in October, taught them to be charitable and they believe donating the ring is the “the best way to honor her.”
The Salvation Army says the envelope with the ring and the note was dropped into the kettle outside a HyVee store in Sioux Falls on Monday.
The donors wrote that they removed the small stones from the ring so that each could “have a small part and left the center stone in the setting to be used to help some who are less fortunate.”
