TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two dogs were killed in a Florida Panhandle house fire.

The Tallahassee Democrat (https://goo.gl/nCGMnh ) reports that firefighters responded to the home Tuesday night and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of the single-story residence.

Fire officials say they battled the blaze for more than an hour. Two human occupants and a third dog managed to escape.
