OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have identified skeletal remains found along a set of railroad tracks near Oskaloosa.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Wednesday an autopsy shows the remains belong to 34-year-old Jeffrey Allen Versteegh, of Oskaloosa. Versteegh was reported missing to local police in July.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined. Authorities say final autopsy results could take up to eight weeks to be completed.

A hunter discovered the remains on Dec. 16 along a set of railroad tracks north of Oskaloosa.
