CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson University’s run at a possible football national championship has reportedly turned the Lowcountry sports merchandise world topsy turvy.

The Post and Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1QJFzUn) Clemson’s recent rise to No. 1 in the College Football Playoff coupled with the University of South Carolina’s struggles is causing Clemson merchandise to sell quickly whereas South Carolina merchandise is slow to sell.

Luke Flood, owner of The Fan Zone in North Charleston, says typically Gamecock merchandise outsells Clemson about three to one. This year, however, Clemson is outselling Gamecock merchandise about four to one.

Palmetto Moon founder Bob Webster says his staff has put Clemson product in the lead in all of his stores.

Flood and Webster say their ideal business scenario would be for the Tigers and Gamecocks to both be undefeated.
