HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Officials in a Long Island town have named a street block after a 12-year-old girl killed by a stray bullet that came through her home’s window.

Newsday reported (https://nwsdy.li/1U5aqbT ) Dejah Joyner’s family joined elected officials on Wednesday for the designation of Dejah Joyner Street.

Dejah died Oct. 17, a day after she was shot in the head when a bullet pierced through a plate-glass window at her family’s Hempstead home. Police have made no arrests.

A $75,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest.
