KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - A 78-year-old man has been charged with raping an elementary school boy for years in Kennewick.

The Tri-City Herald reports (https://goo.gl/4AtDAv ) William G. Nicol was charged in Benton County Superior Court with first-degree child molestation and two counts of first-degree rape of a child.

Nicol was arrested Monday and posted $10,000 bail.

Court documents say the boy told a relative earlier this year he had been sexually abused by Nicol.

Jim Egan told the court he has been hired by Nicol as his attorney and asked to move his Wednesday arraignment to Dec. 31. Nicol is scheduled to enter a plea at that time.
