LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to identify human remains found near the Arizona-California border.

Lake Havasu City police say officers were dispatched to possible human remains and a wallet found in a desert area Monday afternoon.

They say the items were discovered by a citizen who was off-roading in the area.

Detectives say the contents of the wallet belonged to a man listed as a missing person in Lake Havasu City on Nov. 1.

Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play at the scene and an autopsy will be performed to positively identify the remains.
