SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police in Sioux Falls say two adolescents were arrested after they reportedly drank cough syrup, huffed rubber cement and pointed airsoft guns at vehicles.

Lt. Dave McIntire tells the Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1TikhL8 ) several people called police Tuesday afternoon to report that three boys were pointing guns at passing cars. McIntire says officers then located the suspects at a fast food restaurant, where an employee reported noticing them drinking cough syrup with their water.

When police found the suspects, McIntire says, only one of three adolescents was carrying what turned to be an airsoft gun.

McIntire says a 12-year-old and 13-year-old were charged with ingesting. The younger adolescent was also charged with disorderly conduct. The third boy wasn’t charged.

McIntire says the adolescents facing charges were also seen huffing rubber cement.
