SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - A tip to San Angelo police has led to the arrest of two suspects in the August hit-and-run death of a man riding a skateboard.

Tom Green County jail records show 39-year-old Christopher Lee Mata and 40-year-old Nicole Lorelle Johnson were being held Wednesday on charges of failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving death.

Bond was $50,000 apiece for the San Angelo residents. Online records do not list attorneys to speak for Mata or Johnson. Both were arrested Tuesday.

Authorities say 21-year-old Joe Carlos Lopez was struck and killed Aug. 2 while riding his skateboard on a San Angelo street.

Police later determined a 2002 SUV that allegedly hit Lopez was repaired and eventually discarded.
