TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - It’s become a very happy holiday season for employees of SynDaver Labs.

The Tampa Tribune (https://bit.ly/1myHYEN) reports that the creator of synthetic cadavers for medical research bestowed $1.5 million worth of company stock to non-management employees at its Christmas party recently.

The Tampa company makes synthetic cadavers, which have all of the organs, muscles and bones of a human cadaver. They are used worldwide at hospitals and at universities and community colleges teaching anatomy. The military is using the bodies to teach medics to work on cases of extreme trauma.

The company is in the early stages of planning for an initial public offering, and although a date has not yet been set, it is expected in 2018.
