SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Dozens of Tooele County residents and members of the racing community recently gathered to publicly voice their concern about the future of the Miller Motorsports Park.

KUTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1YBAmwU ) that they are concerned about the prospect of the track remaining closed for the 2016 racing season.

Chinese investment group MiTime was supposed to take over day-to-day operations of the track in January, but the deal was blocked by a court order last week. Tooele County commissioners say they won’t appeal the ruling.

Trackstar Racing owner Kelly Rees says that with no one to manage the track, there will be limited or no work for hundreds of people involved. She says the closure will mean business owners have to relocate to another state to operate near a race track.
