SYDNEY (AP) - Striker Mark Bridge scored his fifth goal in as many games to clinch first-place Western Sydney’s 2-0 win Thursday over Newcastle, its eighth victory in nine A-League matches.

Alberto Aguilar scored two minutes into first-half injury time and Bridge clinched the match for the Wanderers in the 70th minute.

The win moved the Wanderers into a five-point lead over Brisbane and six points over third-place Melbourne City.

Brisbane and City play on Sunday to conclude the 12th round.
