WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) - An unusually warm Christmas Eve has led to a weather record in Connecticut.

The National Weather Service in Taunton, Massachusetts, tweeted Thursday that temperatures at Bradley International Airport reached 60 degrees just after noon.

That broke the record high temperature for the day of 59 degrees at Bradley, set both in 1996 and 1990.

By 1 p.m., Danbury was considered one of the warmest spots in southern New England. Temperatures in Danbury reached 68 degrees. Danbury joined Boston, Bedford and Norwood, Massachusetts.

Temperatures reached 69 in Fitchburg and North Adams, Massachusetts.

The weather service said such high temperatures are more normal for this time of year in Florida.
