LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Time is winding down on this year’s Wetland Wonders Challenge for Michigan waterfowl hunters.

The Department of Natural Resources says the contest runs through Jan. 31, 2016.

Another opportunity for hunters to finish getting cards punched for the program will be the Zone 3 waterfowl hunting weekend this Saturday and Sunday.

Staffers will be available to validate cards both days at the Harsens Island, Shiawassee River and Fennville Farm managed waterfowl hunt areas.

Michigan’s Wetland Wonders include the state’s seven premier managed waterfowl hunt areas.

Seven winners will get prize packages valued at $1,500 each, including a shotgun and a “golden ticket” good for one first-choice pick at a managed waterfowl hunt area for the 2016-17 season.

The winners will be chosen in February.
