PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A man is being held without bail after a fatal stabbing that Providence police said was the city’s 15th homicide this year.

Miguel Telaban-Rivera appeared in court on Thursday morning charged with murder and illegally possessing a knife while committing a crime.

Police have not named the victim, a man whose body was found Wednesday evening at a home in the city’s Elmwood neighborhood.

Telaban-Rivera has a bail hearing on Jan. 7.

His case was referred to the public defender’s office, but it was unclear if an attorney has been assigned.
