ATLANTA (AP) - State labor officials say metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate is at 5 percent, down from 5.4 percent in October.
The Georgia Department of Labor early Thursday announced the 5 percent November jobless rate, which is not seasonally adjusted. It is down from 6.1 percent from November 2004.
State labor officials say metro Atlanta’s jobless rate is now at its lowest point since April 2008, when it also was 5 percent.
Elsewhere in Georgia, metro Gainesville had the lowest area jobless rate at 4.2 percent.
The Heart of Georgia-Altamaha region had the highest at 6.8 percent.
Statewide, Georgia’s seasonally-adjusted November unemployment rate was 5.6 percent, down from 5.7 percent in October.
