EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (AP) - A power outage that affected nearly 2,000 National Grid customers in Rhode Island is being blamed on faulty equipment.

The Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/1OjQZaG ) reports that customers in East Greenwich, Warwick and North Kingstown lost power at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

A utility spokeswoman says crews adjusted equipment on one of the poles on Davisville Road in East Greenwich shortly after the outage was reported. Power was largely restored at around 7 a.m.
