ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old man has died after he was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train as it headed to Penn Station.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/1U6wTFu ) it happened Wednesday at about 10:25 p.m. in Rockville Centre. It’s unclear why the man was on the tracks.

The train was traveling westbound from Babylon to Penn Station.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the man.

The incident is under investigation.
