SUNBURY, Pa. (AP) - The mayor of a central Pennsylvania city says he plans an official announcement next week on the findings of an external investigation into the police department.

Sunbury Mayor David Persing suspended two officers for inappropriate behavior earlier this year after an internal investigation conducted by police left some city council members unsatisfied. Three members said the probe was incomplete and voted to hire a Philadelphia law firm to investigate.

The (Sunbury) Daily Item (https://bit.ly/1OjSEwX ) reports that Persing said council members discussed the police force in executive session on Tuesday. He said he will talk about “certain aspects” of the discussion on Monday.

The three council members said they don’t object to releasing the outside investigation’s findings to the public.
