WARRIOR, Ala. (AP) - A 17-year-old is accused of stabbing his mother’s uncle to death after an argument about a storm shelter.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release they responded to the stabbing Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies found the 57-year-old man with a stab wound when they arrived. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene. His name hasn’t been released.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian says the man had been drinking alcohol and was angry that someone had been inside a storm shelter on the property. He threatened the 17-year-old and began beating him with a closed fist. The teen stabbed the man with a hunting knife he had on his belt.

Results of the investigation will be presented to the district attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed.
