DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Police in Durham have identified a shooting victim as the city’s 40th homicide of 2015.

A statement from police said officers found 25-year-old Jakeba Keshawn Henry with a gunshot wound east of downtown Wednesday night. The statement said he was taken to the hospital, where he died.

So far, no charges have been filed.

Henry’s shooting was the second reported Wednesday. Police said they responded to a call around 6:17 p.m. and found a man who had been shot in the leg. The shooting victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Durham police reported 22 homicides last year and 30 in 2013.
